The Candymeister will not need to locate Uncle Urnie's Candy Ashes
After Thursday's games, Joe "Uncle Urnie's Candy Ashes" Grover and Day 1 Candy Bar of the Day winner sat atop the leaderboard. Not that I was rooting against Joe (narrator: he was), but if he held on to the lead (narrator: he didn't), there was a strong possibility Joe would do something that 26 previous JQMCBPs had failed to do: stump the Candymeister. Across JQMCBP history, I have had to use eBay to acquire 20-year old candy (Kirby Puckett Bar) as well as send miscellaneous candy mules out to pick up Melo Bars (available only at Denver-area King Soopers grocery stores), Dulce De Leche M&M's (test markets in Mexican-American neighborhoods of San Antonio and Los Angeles) and Black&Gold Musk-Flavoured Sticks (literally a gas station in Australia). Hat-tips to Joshua Littrell, Matt "The Sparrow" Smalling, and Alex McWhinnie (srsly! smuggled back from Australia to procure the JQMCBP prize) for getting me those. But Uncle Urnie's? Believe it or not, it appears this was a pretty limited run candy and, judging from the picture, janky enough to not have a secondary market on eBay. Candymeister dodged a close one there.
Revisiting the UCoW™
Now that we're down to 8 teams, there are 2 to the 7th or 128 possible bracket permutations left. Of those, only 25 humans and 2 chimps (!) are left as possible JQMCBP champions. Of those, our current front-runner Derek "Taza Mexican Dark Chocolate" Roesti of Colorado is the clear favorite. Derek's final four of UConn, Purdue, Duke (!), and Alabama (!!) are all alive and well. For now. Megan "Milky Way" Wooley-Ousdahl sits currently in 2nd both in the standings and in UCoW™, and needs a Tennessee championship to fulfill her candy dreams.

Where I give out fake awards for my favorite candy selections
The I'm-So-Glad-It's-This-Wooley-Ousdahl-That-Picked-It-Not-Megan Award goes to Michael Wooley-Ousdahl. Megan Wooley-Ousdahl, who might win JQMCBP this year, picked a Milky Way. Michael, like a few others in JQMCBP, probably did a Bing! search for "most expensive chocolate in the world" and found himself on the ultra-ritzy Ecuadoran To'ak website. Not to be outdone though, Micheal then did a little shopping to find the most ludicrous item available, and he settled on the To'ak Masters Series Enriquestuardo. In collaboration with one of Ecuador's most celebrated modern artists, Enriquestuardo, because no chocolate experience is complete without the lens of a post-modern mixed media visionary, To'ak has created a taste experience like none other. The reason it's a wholly unique experience is that, with the first bite, all of your senses uncloud and hyper-focus on this one thing: "This candybar cost $490." My favorite part of this delicacy is they charge $6 to gift wrap it. Seems a bit chinchy!
Well, second favorite. First favorite is the absurd solid teak chopsticks you get to pick up the $490 chocolate. Don't want to tarnish it with bodily oils!
