Hole Number 2. Par 5, 427 yard, straight fairway to a small green. A long narrow deep bunker crossed the fairway about 100 yards from the hole.
Erv hit a good drive (driver) off the tee to the middle of the fairway and about 205 yards from the hole. The group ahead of us was taking forever to get off the green and so he decided to lay up. He hit a pitching wedge that just barely got into the right rough short of the long trap. His third shot was a repeat of the first hole; a shanked sand wedge into a bunker to the right of the green. The fourth shot out of the sand made the fringe of the green from where he two putted for a bogey 6. Ben using a driver pulled his ball long but into the right rough. He then hit a 7-iron well right of the green into an area of tall grass and had to declare a lost ball. A sand wedge to the green and 2 putts gave him a bogey 6. |
